Dr. Ross is a licensed clinical psychologist who has provided treatment to a broad variety of adult clients for over 20 years in Idaho, and for the past several years on a part-time basis since relocating to Oregon. She has expertise in addressing anxiety, depression, and other mood difficulties, as well as challenges with stress management, coping with major life transitions, and grief and loss.
With extensive experience in medical and comprehensive rehabilitation settings, Dr. Ross has developed a special interest in addressing behavioral and functional difficulties related to a variety of medical and neurocognitive conditions, including stroke, brain injury, and degenerative neurological disorders. Psychotherapy may also be useful in assisting family members in the adjustment process to their loved one’s medical/functional challenges.
Dr. Ross describes her approach to psychotherapy as compassionate, strength-based, and goal-oriented. She employs a variety of evidence-based strategies, including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and relaxation interventions. The specific approach to treatment for each client is individualized to meet the client’s presenting problem and treatment goals. Dr. Ross’s approach will include specific strategies, if needed, to address the enduring impact of early complex traumatic experiences in efforts to work with psychological symptoms later in life.
